Team returned in absurd kidnapping: A Christmas Competition

By Jig Mehta, Digital Marketing Manager | Published 18 Dec 2024

In the early hours (but not too early, otherwise why would there be employees in the office) of the 2nd December 2024. A report was received of a break-in at the Select Technology offices.

The burglar, now identified as an elf, was attempting to steal the secret formula for IT support, a not so closely guarded secret, stored in a not so secure cupboard at the Select Technology office.

While the theft failed, unfortunately 6 members of staff were taken. They have now all been returned to the Select Technology office. Reports indicate minor injuries related to glitter, wrapping paper and flour. The hostages were in good spirits, Catherine Cunningham, Technical Account Manager stated, “It was a big surprise when the bag of flour hit me, but at least I know that the elf has got a fitting punishment“.

The elf has been sentenced to 6 months hard labour, in what is described as the worst team at Select Technology, the Marketing Team. Anita Glover, Marketing Manager stated “What! We are not the worst team!? But, it’ll be nice to have an extra pair (of tiny) hands in the team“.

In a twist, one of the hostages, Cybersecurity Manager, Russell Gower-Leech, was converted into a hapless sidekick to the elf, making the search harder and significantly wasting people’s time, he was sentenced to continue his role as Cybersecurity Manager at Select Technology.

In the original statement from the Management at Select Technology, prizes were available to those that joined the search, the winners of each prize are below:

Hannah Hindley won The Traitors board game

Charlene Owen won the King of Tokyo board game

Frank Vorstenburg won The Lego Santa’s Post Office

Emma McKinney and Vishnu Sunil have each won a Kentish hamper
