A transformative partnership with a new IT Manager
The challenge
When WB Chambers started working with a new in-house IT Manager, Select Technology was on hand to collaborate with them on their long-term technology plans.
This new era in the IT department was the perfect opportunity to prioritise digital transformation and elevate the business’ approach to system management, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
The solution
We worked with WB Chambers to set out a 3-5 year roadmap that captured the requirements and ambitions for the business’ technology. Together, we quickly pushed forward several projects to streamline organisational operations.
Initially, we set about replacing servers that were reaching the end of their life, ensuring business continuity, minimising security risks, and enabling access to Microsoft’s technical support.
Next we commenced WiFi installations at a number of sites to boost connectivity across the business. We also worked with the team to introduce Microsoft Copilot to a small test group of users, which was so successful it has now been rolled out to a larger proportion of team members.
This collaborative and planned approach has helped WB Chambers minimise risk, adopt new technology faster and set themselves up for long-term success.

About the client
Founded in 1952, WB Chambers is a third-generation family farming business with growing locations throughout Kent. They cultivate over 350 hectares, making them the UK’s largest independent cane fruit grower, producing a variety of berries, cherries, and niche crops. Tim Chambers, the third-generation owner and current managing director, has focused on soft fruit and cherry production since taking over in 1990.
